TAX LAWYER
Trevor Parry is a freedom fighter. He believes that taxation is Canada is confiscatory, unfair and punitive. It deprives entrepreneurs, the lifeblood of our economy of much of their life’s work. It crushes the aspiration of professionals who spend years in school only to seem more than half what they make taken away from them. As a tax lawyer and insurance Jedi be brings his formidable skills to bear in the defence of client interests. He believes that life insurance, properly deployed in the context of understandable and prudent tax planning can assure a client of lower taxes while they are building their enterprise, keeping more of it when they sell or transition, and like a claymour, cut taxes associated with passing down to something tolerable and civilized.
Trevor is a tax lawyer, called to the Ontario Bar in 1996. He obtained a Master of Taxation Law in 2013 from Osgoode Hall Law School, specializing in Owner Manager planning. He served as a Bencher (Director) of the Law Society of Ontario. He holds an LLB from Queen’s University Faculty of Law, a Masters Degree in History from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelors degree in History from Trinity College at the University of Toronto.
He was formally Director of Sales of Gordon B. Lang & Assoc. where he and his team implemented over 2500 IPPS and 500 RCAs.
He has a strong grounding in taxation, both domestic and international.
He has a regular podcast, “Leviathan must be Stopped” where current affairs, including economic and tax policy are discussed with a pro-growth, pro-freedom bias.
He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practioners, the Law Society of Ontario, Hamilton Law Association, Canadian Tax Foundation, the Albany Club, the Royal Canadian Military Institute, the Nectar Wine Society and a former member of CALU and Advocis. He is a student of Kyokushin karate.
He lives in Ancaster, Ontario (not Hamilton) with his wife Lindsey, his daughters Reagan, Allison and Katie and their two great Danes, Tex and Elvis.
